DO YOU DO FLATPACK OR KIT SET?

Generally if customers want a flat pack we usually assemble the shed, install the roller door in our workshop and then flat pack it. This is to save the customer time on the other side and ensure everything goes together smoothly.

Things that can be especially difficult are cutting the flashings to size and the roller door can be difficult to install. Note this is not an Ikea type flat pack there are no instructions and will need some carpentry skills to assemble.

If someone has to assemble one of these without instructions for the first time, it would probably take a day. There would be some head scratching and the end result would be not as good.

In saying that, if this service is not needed we can offer a small discount but note there will be considerably more work on the other side, and we take no responsibility with problems associated with assembling.

IS THE SHED WATERTIGHT?

Our shed is watertight. And it’ll be slightly dryer with extra building paper on the walls.
In saying that, painting the shed will achieve the similar result.

DO I NEED CONSENT OR PERMIT FOR THE SHED?

We advise that customers do their own research. However, we haven't had any issues with this in the past, and the sheds are portable and can be moved if necessary.

WHAT'S THE DELIVERY FEE?

Delivery fee is different for different locations. Please email us your delivery address and the product you are after at info@solidsheds.co.nz for a quote.

ROLLER DOOR: IS 1200MM THE TRIM SIZE, IS IT REAR MOUNT ON THE FRAME.

The door opening is 1240mm. Yes, guide rails and door support brackets mount on the studs/framing.

ROLLER DOOR 1.2 X 2M HEIGHT/ROLL SIZE:

2.1m is the height of the runners. The internal width is 1.24m.

The roll is about 350mm in diameter when it is rolled up. The actual size of the opening is 1235mm once installed.

CAN I STORE IN YOUR FACILITY INSTEAD OF HAVING THE SHED DELIVERED?

Yes, of course. There won't be any delivery fee. Please note the storage shed access is during daylight hours only.

CUSTOM-MADE SHED: CAN THE ROLLER DOOR BE INSTALLED TO THE END OF THE SHED?

Yes, the roller door can be installed to the end of the shed, but there would be an additional cost for shed modifications.

CUSTOM-MADE SHED: CAN YOU MAKE THE LARGE GARDEN SHED WITH LARGER ROLLER DOORS?

We can make the large garden shed with 1.5m or 1.8m roller doors. The price will be different.

CUSTOM-MADE SHED: FOR THE LARGE GARDEN SHED, INSTEAD OF 3.7M WIDTH, CAN YOU MAKE IT SLIGHTLY SMALLER?

We could do a shed that is 3m width as you face the roller door by 2.5m depth (including overhang of approximately 50mm on the roof). That is because we order our iron in bulk cut to length.

CUSTOM-MADE SHED: IS IT POSSIBLE TO HAVE THE SHED WITHOUT A FLOOR?

Yes we can provide the shed part to be put on an existing slab. Feel free to email us at info@solidsheds.co.nz for a quote.

CUSTOM-MADE SHED: DO YOU DO GABLED ROOVES FOR THE SHEDS?

Unfortunately we don’t do gabled rooves. We can supply without the roller door if you would like to install a standard door yourself.

SHED HIRE: DO YOU DO RENT TO BUY?

Unfortunately we don't do rent to buy.

SHED HIRE: WHAT'S THE MINIMUM RENTAL PERIOD?

There is no minimum rental period.

SHED HIRE: CAN I PICK UP THE RENTAL SHED MYSELF?

We don't allow rental sheds to be picked up as we need to know the exact location where our sheds will usually be stored.
If the shed is bought outright and the customer picks the shed up then there will be no delivery fee.

CAN I COME AND PICK UP THE SHED MYSELF OR USE A HIAB COMPANY?

If the shed has been purchased, sure, no problem. Our sheds come in skids.
Or we can load it onto a trailer if you would like to come and pick it up.

DO THE SHEDS SIT ON RUNNERS?

Yes, all our sheds have two runners at the bottom, which are made of 90 by 45 mm treated timber. And each standard garden shed has 5 joists on top of the runners.

HOW MUCH DOES THE STANDARD GARDEN SHED WEIGH?

One standard shed weighs about 350kg each.

DO I NEED TO LEVEL THE SHED WHEN IT'S BEEN DELIVERED?

When we deliver the sheds, we offer wooden blocks to level the ground and the sheds have treated runners they sit on. Provided the site isn’t too boggy this should be fine. Otherwise some customers in the past have put concrete pavers or bricks underneath.

WHAT ARE MY PAYMENT OPTIONS?

We prefer bank transfer.
